Police continue investigations into "suspicious" restaurant fire

Published on

Sydney police have released vision of a masked suspect caught on camera shortly before a stabbing and arson attempt.

Earlier this month, fire crews and paramedics were called to a fire at Essenza Italian restaurant in Surry Hills.

Its 37-year-old manager Angelo Ziotas was rescued from the top level by passers-by and treated for stab wounds to his back.

His pet dog died from smoke inhalation.

Detective Chief Inspector Adam Johnson is calling on the public to help identify attacker.
